Edwin Longsden Long (12 July 1829 – 15 May 1891) was a successful English genre, history, biblical and portrait painter. He is best known for his Orientalist paintings, many very large, which fetched high prices. His The Babylonian Marriage Market (1875, over three metres wide) is perhaps his best known work in this line. By 1883, he was able to establish his own selling gallery in Old Bond Street.
