Who we are

Framed (framedapp.art) is a personal art diary — a place to log, rate, and discover artworks from museums around the world. It is operated as an independent project.

What data we collect

  • Account data: your email address, username, and a hashed (never plain-text) password.
  • Profile data: optional bio and avatar image you choose to add.
  • Activity data: artworks you log, ratings, reviews, lists, and museum visits.
  • Usage data: anonymous page-view analytics (PostHog) to understand how the product is used. No personal profile is built.

We do not collect payment information, location data, or any data beyond what you explicitly provide.

How we use your data

  • To provide and maintain your account and the service.
  • To send transactional emails (email verification, password reset). We do not send marketing emails.
  • To show your public profile and activity to other users (only if your account is public).
  • To improve the product using aggregated, anonymous usage analytics.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties except the infrastructure providers listed below, and any future partners we disclose in an updated version of this policy.

Third-party services

  • Supabase — database hosting (EU region). Your data is stored here.
  • Vercel — application hosting and serverless functions.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.
  • PostHog — anonymous usage analytics.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data via your settings page.
  • Delete your account and all associated data — see below.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.

How to delete your account

You can permanently delete your account — including all logs, reviews, lists, and profile data — from your settings page. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is deleted immediately.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in — this is essential and always active. With your consent, we also set an analytics cookie (PostHog) to understand how the product is used. You can accept or decline this when you first visit, and change your choice at any time by clearing your browser cookies.
